Dennis Quaid has been awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame...umm...what has this guy ever been in? Has he even been on any type of screen (adult movies perhaps? anyone?) in the last 10 years?
I wasn't aware that the main criteria for receiving a star was getting dumped by a rigidly type-cast actress in favour of a phone-throwing, beer guzzling, I-think-I-can-sing egomaniac....
You learn something new everyday.
Dennis who?
ReplyDeleteHe was in the crappy "Day After Tomorrow" movie. With all the storms and cold. He gets a star for that? Next thing you know we'll be honoring Tara Reid for her breathtaking role in American Pie 9.
ReplyDeleteI liked "Day After Tomorrow"!
ReplyDeleteBut then, I have a thing for inclement weather, so. . .
haha Franci...sums it up beautifully :)

i like Dennis, his earlier work was much better. Check out D.O.A., but you will have to suffer through watching his annoying co-star/wretched ex-wife be cute, perky, and well...annoying in this neo film nior.
ReplyDeleteWell, he got a lot of critical acclaim for "Far From Heaven" a few years ago. So there was that... one thing... many years ago... the success of which had nothing to do with the fact he'd just been dumped... crap.
ReplyDeleteI think all you need to get a Hollywood star these days is to send in 5 cereal box labels and a 100 word essay on "Why it would be, like so cool to, like, have a star on the Hollywood walk thingy."
ReplyDeleteYou have to pay to get a start. Seriously. Pay money to the star-granting people.
ReplyDeleteTotally Elisa. I couldn't agree with you more.
ReplyDeleteHe was in "Innerspace" with Martin Short - but that was like 20 years ago. But, when I was a kid, I saw it and I liked it. But I also liked "Spaceballs" and "The Three Amigos" so that's not saying much.
ReplyDeleteHe deserves a star just for putting up with Meg Ryan for all of those years and then having her dump him for Russell Crowe.
ReplyDeleteActually you can buy a star. As long you got people to sign to show their support, & loads of cash, you can put a star of yourself!
ReplyDeleteHaha...this is too funy :) Everyone trying to remember anything the guy's been in...poor Dennis.
ReplyDeleteAnon 749...I actually used to like the 3 Amigos as well...until I resaw it recently...and almost died...
love,
elisa
He was in In Good Company and the Rookie, which were both good movies.
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding me? The Three Amigos and Spaceballs may have been hokey, but they were damned hilarious! I LOVE both of those movies, they're awesome even today.
