I never thought I'd say this...

but I think I've found someone more incompetent than the incumbent US president. Ms Sarah Palin...can we say...dumb and cuckoo?

Gibson has been roundly criticized for taking quotes out of context, using partial, deceptive quotes, and otherwise loading his questions to make Palin look bad. She was too quick to fall for that old ploy.

I think we can, I think we can.

The last thing we need is four more years of our leaders pulling out the terrorist card when they don't know what the fuck's going on. Her handlers could at least make sure she has one RELEVANT soundbyte per issue...or figure out a way she can turn every issue around into a hockey mom analogy.

"The answer, Charlie... is... ummmm... oh gosh darn it, look at the time, I am late for soccer practise and I'm on snack duty today" Maybe she should spend less time worrying about what's coming down the pipeline in a job she hasn't even got yet and more time educating her daughter about what a condom is for.

Why do you say that? Because she is pretty and looks young? If she looked like Margaret Thatcher would you say the same thing? Why does everyone dismiss the fact that she was a mayor, is a governor, and speaks intelligently? This ain't Hollywood - looks aren't the criteria. It helps if you are a man (Obama) but you get slammed if you are a woman. And mostly by women I might add. Why did no-one blast Biden? Oh, he's a man. And doesn't look so great. So I guess that makes him brilliant??

As for her daughter, anonymous, I'm guessing you aren't a parent. Only someone who has no clue about raising children would make such a comment. I suppose you do everything your parents taught you. You never make a mistake. And I'm sure your kids (if you have them or ever do) will do the same.

hey anon - I don't dismiss her because she's arguably pretty - listen to her! She's rabitting on like Bush on speed. [bad combo]

I didn't think she rambled, I thought she did fine. Trust me, I'm no Bush fan. I cringe whenever the man speaks. At least I know whoever gets into office will be able to form complete thoughts and sentences.

I'd never heard of Gov. Palin before all this, but she does strike me as intelligent. Let's just see how it goes.

Love the blog, as always!

ya know, anon, it's not about looks, it's about competence and living by the morals you preach. She's a conservative republican vying for the highest possible role as a conservative republican next to the leader of one of the biggest and most influential countries in the world. She's clearly waffling here and it's not good anough. I didn't make any comparisons to Margaret Thatcher or Biden or anybody else- this is about her and she's not shown me anything other than a tendency to be a hardass to prove a point and a need in her personal life to waiver from her beliefs.

I am not sure why you make the assumption about my children either. That was totally unnecessary but to answer your assumption in am in fact a parent of two kids- a fourteen year old girl and a 12 year old boy so to say i am in the thick of it is the understatement of the year. I try to teach my kids the best morals possible and lead by example. I know in this day and age things happen and thankfully they haven't to my family but I am not an idiot and I know even with the best intentions and example kids make mistakes. But I am not advertising myself as a moral leader and I am not audutioning for the role of understudy in the role of President!! We have to pick our representitives very carefully and their private/ home lives come in to play because their decisions, morals and the way they deal with issues dictates the way they will make decisions on our behalf. Palin has not made the decisions I would have and thus she is not representitive of me and I won't vote for her.

Thanks for the response, anon. Your points are well taken.

Enough Anon posters, seriously. She covered well not knowing what it was, but that's still not good enough. She obviously has nowhere near enough experience to deal with Any foreign policy issues, and that worries me with a hawk like McCain being the other person on the ticket. You can bet Hillary would know the answer to that question.

Hello defenders of Palin. Did you know who she was before being picked by McCain? I did and many other environmentally conscious people and wildlife defenders know her all too well. Bottom line: She's bad for the environment, bad for wildlife, bad for women and .... the list goes on.
Quite frankly she's worse than Bush.
Women: if you're raped, guess what Palin thinks you MUST have the baby, but oh then you can hand it off to be adopted! Parents of kids killed by guns: Palin does not think semi-automatic weapons should be illegal, after all how would hunters kill animals with just a regular old rifle? Now that's just crazy talk.
Charles Gibson is in fact more educated on what's going on in the world and Palin could not answer the questions. She made herself look bad.
