Heath Ledger dead from apparent overdose

In Australia this is a huge deal. AS we al now by now, he was found dead with pills strewn around his NY apartment. O.k...apparently this is not true...no pills strewn about. (thanks anon 4.36) the latest news is that he may have died from natural causes...but personally, I think this is a cover up.

A few snippets:

"Heath totally wanted to be on his own these past few months since he and Michelle split in September," one insider was quoted as saying.

"He adored his daughter Matilda and when Michelle called it quits he missed Matilda so much that he was thrown into a deep, dark depression.

"Heath was living in New York to be close to his daughter. But he hardly ever ventured out any more.

"His close friend and Brokeback co-star, Jake Gyllenhaal has been worried about him for months. And he knew Heath was sinking further into a depression. Jake is Matilda's godfather, and he and Heath had become really close since they did the film Brokeback together. "

Michelle has flown back to NY from Sundance.

The sick crazies have also started with this:

I am definitely shocked about this. I couldn't believe it when I saw it on Larry King. My heart and prayers go out to his family. It's so sad.

Depression sucks. And so does divorce.
Poor Heath, I feel sorry for him.

I admit I am angry because it seems like he didn't even think about his little girl growing up without him... I can't even imagine the pain his family is going through. I hope someone keeps those WBC nutjobs FAR away from his family. Bad enough their son's death is all over the news on TV and sites... they don't need those crazies anywhere near them.

I love, love, love Heath Ledger. I thought his talent was so great and I admired him for not going the rom com route after 10 Things (which is one of my all time favs). This is just so sad, River Phoenix sad.

I was stunned when I came home from work yesterday. The TV had been left on and I did a literal double take as the headline caught my eye when I put my bags down. What a sad waste of a wonderful actor. He was so talented and really on the crest of his career. I feel for his family and his little girl.

Why would you put up the body bag shot? I'm usually totally cool with the things you do, but that totally rubs me the wrong way. It's terribly sad and sudden. But it's still cool to keep a bit of a respectful distance yeah?

anon954,
I posted the pic for latest news value rather than to shock.
Apologies if you thought it was a bit crude - was not intended that way.

I wish there was a way to turn back the clock Heath…and stop this from happening… One of the most talented and promising actors… so many images left unseen, so many emotions left to portray. And on top of it all, you seemed to be a genuine, nice and real person…
Wish I could turn back the clock and stop this from being true… You won my heart…talent is a most splendorous thing… I wish I could still watch you when we were both in our 60’s. Wish there was a way… My heart sunk when I first heard you were gone… And it sinks everytime I think of you… I just shake my head in sadness and disbelief...
I can´t take your face out of my mind Heath, and Gustavo Santaolalla’s “The Wings” from Brokeback’s soundtrack is playing in my head and won’t stop…Probably because it’s so sad, and so beautiful, and it reminds me of you…
Rest in peace, Heath.
This is just me, saying goodbye…
You’ll forever be up there with the greats to me Heath…
You will be missed.
Love always,
Daniela

You should really correct your comment that pills were strewn about. The press have been reporting for days now that this was NOT true.

People should picket the headquarters of hate groups like the WBC.

I don't feel like signing in but it's me, the regular sylvie!

I definitely believe in God and I know He wouldn't want those sick supposively God-loving people at Heath's funeral. They even picket soldier's funerals sometimes. They are the ones that are truly going to hell! It might just be a coincedence but, the first 3 numbers of their zip/post code is 666. Bastards!

sylvie... hear hear. there's more of that garbage online. For a start they really ought to get their facts straight (pardon the pun- he's not a gay man, he just plays one on TV. But even if he was the gayest man on earth there's STILL no excuse for causing people this amount of pain and trauma in the light of a tragic even simply to publicise your views on an unrelated subject. These people are vultures and I am sure there's a VERY warm place for them somewhere DEEP in the South... idiots!!
