Poor dear, he died yesterday from pancreatic cancer. He was my favourite tenor by far.

How much is your blog worth?

I am surprised you know who he was. Pancreatic Ca is a terrible way to go. A shame.
Hey Doc,
My parents are classical music fanatics. I grew up listening and comparing all the living (and dead) tenors, sopranos, baritones and altos. haha.
Pavarotti was the best though IMO, but far.
Yes, poor thing, I hope it wasn't too painful an end for him.
love,
elisita.
Oh man, I was so terribly sad when i heard this. He was my favorite too. I grew up listening to hos music, my Father would play his record all the time and of course there was the connection with Nessun Dorma and the world cup so I heard that piece over and over and still love it.
The world lost a real jewel when he died. I hope like you that he didn't suffer too much.
