Gwyneth Hates Those Fireman Sissies

This news is a couple of days old...but somehow my Gwen-hate radar went down for a while. Gwyneth thinks that Americans are pathetic in the way they dealth with 9/11. She much prefers the stiff upper-lip style of the English.

"I find the English amazing how they got over 7/7...There were no multiple memorials with people sobbing as they would have been in America...There, they are constantly scaring people but at the same time, people think nothing of going to see a therapist."

What does scaring people and seeing a therapist have to do with anything? But anyway...to the important points...people sobbing!...crying!...can you imagine? Damn weaklings! When I grow up, I wanna be just like I Gwyneth, and never cry at anything...

I agree with you on this one. There is something so irratating about her

I'm afraid I'm with Gwyneth here, there should be no crying. Ever. It's very unpleasent for those of us who don't cry.

Can I take this opportunity to say that I Hate, HAAAAAATE this stupid fucking trend of giving events snazzy little names like they're a new type of cola. NineEleven and now apparently SevenSeven. Just say the F****ing date. It's not particularly hard to say "September Eleventh". But thats just my opinion, and clearly I know f**k all.

Whew, she looked horrible on that particular Oscar night. There is nothing special about her, yet she truly thinks she is so much better than us.

Poor british wannabe...I hope all USA never watch her movies again.

By the way, I heard her trying to speak in spanish and she sounds like an average gringo tourist in Acapulco or Cancun..

Saludos Elisita!

Well, I certainly won't be crying when she dies, that's for sure.

Not to knock the British or what happened in the subways...but excuse me, HOW MANY DIED ON SEPTEMBER 11th on airplanes, in the WTC and Pentagon versus those submway bombings???

Calling events by their number ironically enhances their link to cabbalism, bwah-hah-hah

HAHAHA!!! Elisa, you have such a sharp, witty tongue! I love it! And I have to agree with Niolk...I hate the date thing, too. It's irritating. Gwyneth sure isn't too concerned about her flagging popularity. Perhaps it's a case of "any press will do".

Oh my GOD WHAT A F'ING BXTCH!!

Although why should I be surprised cuz this just how she seems.

I'd like to see how she got over her dad's death a couple years ago...I'm sure it was just as seamless and smooth as she expects Americans to get over 9/11. BXTCH.

Her comments are absolutely unnecessary, what a heartless idiot!

Uggg! I used to be annoyed by Johnny Dep with his superiority complex, but Gwyn takes it to a whole new level. Who does she think she is? I think I despise her even more. At least I like JD's movies.....

Elisita said...

yeah...I betcha that if the U.S started boycotting her movies big-time...then she would start bawling her damn eyes out about the unfairness etc of it....
ugh.
haha..you've made me so happy Unknown Soldier!!! I knew she was lying about that Spanish thing.

What a f-ing bitch! 7/7 was a tragedy, yes, but there were more than 3,000 people killed on 9/11. Nothing remotely resembling it had ever happened before. As a New Yorker, I can say that the city will never be the same again. Who the hell does she think she is?

That aside, you are brilliant and I love your site and check it religiously.

yeah...Gwyneth really comes off as a real know-it-all bitch.

What a DUMB comparison, one of the stupidist I have seen on here. You could also say that the number of people that died on the 11th September is nothing compared to the number of people who suffered and died in the holocaust, in Rwanda, in the Asian floods last Christmas, in Pakistan recently... or any other major human tragedy.... the list goes on.

Does the fact that more people died make it worse or more significant, no, not to those who have lost a loved a brother, mother, father or lover one.

Dumb, stupid, naive and narrow minded.... now lets get back to something important like Gwynnie bashing. Don't you think her husband comes over as a wet blanket. They really do make a perfect couple, their daughter (even though her name is so stupid) is too cute though.

I agree those names 'nineeleven' etc...

I'm an American and I have to agree with Gwyneth. We as a people do spend an awful lot of time feeling sorry for ourselves and re-hashing every chance we get. Countries around the world experience more tragedy on a regular basis than us and we need to gut it up and move on. I'm not saying forget it or not remember the lives that were lost because of it, just saying to move on from it, and learn from it. The "poor us" syndrome is really embarrassing, we are not untouchables...any of us, no matter what religion, race, nationality etc. Life happens...and sometimes it's not always good or wonderful or sweet.

This is an American plot to get the hell rid of her. Like we did Madonna. Next is Britney. Shhh. Don't tell her.

I agree with anon(s?) 12,08 and 12,40.
And I wanted to express my humble opinion that cruelty of any form, war, suffering IS bad and is shameful and it has nothing to do with the number of people involved. Evil is evil.
Just a side-note before some of us get into mathematics.

Anonymous said...

Umm scuse me but WE HAVEN'T FREAKING REMEMBERED IT E-FXING-NOUGH.

The process (denial) of which will take us right into another such attack. I hope people who hate their own country are right in the thick of it so we can be rid of them and they can be rid of us.

NiolK said...

I think the point they were making wasn't that you shouldnt remember but that you shouldnt compare it to other tragedies or, what I've seen more frequently, act as if it's worse than other tragedies because it was on American soil and Americans died. Americans are no more or less valuable as human beings than any other nationality People dying is people dying and terrorism is terrorism no matter who it affects it's always sad and pointless. By all means remember but do it with respect for the lives lost since, or because of, the Sept. 11th attacks.

All I gotta say is that I hate it when I see a man in a dress crying

I'll admit, certain segments of the US have become a little too touchy-feely for my taste. This country needs more cowboys, as far as I'm concerned. The Duke didn't cry unless it was important, dammit.

however... Gwyn... you stuck up insensitive bitch. While I feel for the brits, they lost 50 people. The US lost 3,000, which is a slightly larger number of people, even if you're using new math. In New York you were hard pressed to find someone who didn't know of someone who was killed. It was a very large shock and a very large tragedy for NY, and for the nation. Companies lost entire deparments and office. The whole nation was stunned, and many people delt with it in many different ways.

And yes, we have memorials and services and a bunch of other stuff that makes Gwynnie a little uncomfortable. It's been a long time for national memory, but for those who were directly affected, it's still very much in their mind.

Also consider, it's been 60+ years since Pearl Harbor. There were STILL cerimonies held on Wednesday. There are STILL survivors who are grieving and loved ones who are grieving.

Gwyn and Madonna hate america. No, they dont hate america. They hate americans. fine, great, good for you gals. GO AWAY. It's insulting that you want our money and you think that we should either just hand it over, despite being slapped in the face because we're so effing stupid, or you think that we should bow and say yes, Gwyn, yes! We will fix things right away, your enlightened enlightendness.

Hey 12:08,

The comparison made was a direct response to the COMPARISON Gywnneth made. It's an approrpiate response considering the comment was Fish Sticks doing the thing you said was so stupid.

Perhaps you won't be so stupid, to use your word, and understand the whole concept of context.

anon 1.15pm, its anon 12.08 here again

I've changed my mind your right. It is worse because more people died and that it happened in USA.
Gwynnie was wrong, I am stupid and this is obviously the worse human tradgedy to hit plant earth in the last 2000 years. More tears should be shed and for a longer time because if it.

Have I got the concept of context correct this time ???

Anonymous said...

7:28, no, you still DON'T GET IT.

Nobody says that 9/11 was the worst thing ever.

As a jew who has direct relatives who DIED IN THE HOLOCAUST, I'm more than well aware of it. Probably much more so than you.

Context is a simple context, but you're so busy being smug, you still don't get it.

Fish stick says this:
The British are better because they aren't whining about the Subway thing like the US is whining about 9/11.

The other poster, not me, by the way, never was, says the equivelent of: A lot more people died on 9/11, in multiple locations.

You see, it would be logical to say that, it was a bigger fucking deal, wasn't it? Two planes into the WTC towers, one into the pentagon, another wrestled to the ground, IS, in fact, by the numbers, a bigger deal.

So, for Fish Sticks to make this comparison was stupid, as pointed out by the poster.

I don't see anywhere in that response--the one that you felt such a moral compunction to react to--that minimized any of the greater tragedies on this planet.
There have been plenty.

You are attacking the commenter for what they didn't say, it's like proving a negative. It's quite obvious it WAS an appropriate, tit for tat response to Paltrow's comment.

Now calm down already. Humility would be my next vocabulary suggestion after context.

I've always liked Gwyneth, but this has gone too far. Does she honestly know that the people in England who lost loved ones in the subway attacks never, ever cry? I'm sure they do, everytime that person's birthday comes up or they see something that that person would've loved. Or, even think about that person. Yes, England got up and on with their loves but so did New Yorkers. Life goes on, but that doesn't mean they never cry about it. That girl is so superficial, the only thing she probably cries over is when her material objects get ruined. I feel sorry for England that they have to deal with her. And, when July 7th comes around, I bet England will have a memorial of some sorts for their victims. It's only human to feel for these people on either side of the Atlantic for what happened to them and their loved ones. Maybe Gwyneth is a robot...no feelings.
