Live 8 Kicks Off Around the World

Live 8 has finally kicked off with a pretty stellar line-up...including my current favourites THE KILLERS. It's been getting huge crowds so far...except Japan where it didn't quite take-off. Australia of course...as far as I can tell, couldn't be bothered hosting such an event...so I have no primary evidence to give you :) But then again...when have I ever had primary evidence for anything I've ever said on this site?

A notable exception from the Live 8 event is of course...Oasis, who have refused to participate. tsk tsk. Noel Gallgher, who appears to have something to say about everything doesn't believe in it. I can't say I entirely disagree with him for once.

He says:

"Correct me if I'm wrong, but are they hoping that one of these guys from
the G8 is on a quick 15 minute break at Gleneagles (in Scotland) and sees
ANNIE LENNOX singing SWEET DREAMS and thinks, 'F**k me, she might have a
point there, you know?'

"KEANE doing SOMEWHERE ONLY WE KNOW and some Japanese businessman
going, 'Aw, look at him... we should really f**king drop that debt, you know.'

"It's not going to happen, is it?"

I agree with Noel. For heaven's sake, if stars really want to make poverty history, they could... you know... DONATE SOME OF THEIR MILLIONS. Sheesh.
