Katie Holmes' Lost Days and Dinner with the Cruz's

Haha...so I guess we've all read the wonderful Fox account of Katie's lost days...basically the 16 days before her big TomKat debut in Rome. In those 16 days she managed to :
a) meet Tom Cruise for the first time,
b) fire both her loyal and long-spanning manager and agent, and;
c) acquire her infamous best-friend...Jessica Rodriguez/Feshbach.
Whew...
But anyway...latest news is that Tom took Katie to dine with Penelope Cruz's parents...with no Penelope. I find this very odd. Man! Don't you just hate it when you think you've gotten engaged to the most normal, average, sweetest guy...and then after the engagement he starts to go all weird on you? Katie...Tom would have freaked me out had me at "hello"...

This poor girl has gone through the ringer the past few weeks. Since she's 'fairly' new to the Biz Tom should know better than to show her around like a little puppy.

I heard the rumor that she's not going to be in the next Batman too; however, has any woman been cast twice in this series (ie Nicole Kidman, Kim Bassinger)?

Hi, just found your blog not too long ago, and I am addicted. :) You crack me up!

Katie Holmes was in the new Batman? I was too busy staring at Christian Bale in all his batty goodness.

Katie wasn't going to be invited back (except possibly to be killed by the Joker) anyway. Hers was a made-for-film character (the only one of the major Batman Begins characters who was) and didn't come from the comics. As for her performance, as I said in the review on my blog - she wasn't terrible, but she wasn't great either (in a film of great performances). Any starlet her age could have done the same.

As for the missing days - if I was her parents/family/friends I'd try to stage an intervention. Seriously. Its like the Scientologists have brainwashed her.

I check your site every day. Fun! About Katie, I think she did a great job in Batman. And the ring is classy, tasteful. I love it. Her engagement does seem rather curious, though, doesn't it. The timing? This launches her into Hollywood like the cute little Cruise missle that she is. The thing that's most curious is that Batman and Tom Cruise don't need big plugs. Katie does. Why would Cruise accept a contract? He doesn't need the money or the fame. It's a phony. I think they're really in love.

Funny site...TomKat has to be one of the most bizarre celebrity relationships, next to BritFed, who for the life of me I cannot understand why she worries about some girl trying to steal him away. But I digress.

I don't think Katie has been brainwashed---just watch First Daughter, she's always had that "special" look.

Heya,
elisabeth...BritFred doesn't surprise me too much...they kinda work for each other...she blends right in with him...unfortunatley.

Hmm...I remember seeing a documentary or something once that explained that the Batman franchise NEVER cast the same girl twice...no matter how great they were or what role...this caused a bit of conflict when they wanted to cast michelle pfeiffer again (because she was so popular). I don't know...perhaps that isn't true?

In any case...fellow commenters have said she wasn't that great...so I'll take you guys' word for it. :) Katie's acting has always frustrated me...even from Dawson's Creek days...and that role wasn't exactly demanding...I don't know...she always seems to look like she's complaining or something...

Love,
Elisa
